This past week, Bethany and I took a trip out west to visit some sweet family friends in California. Y’all, what a trip! It was awwwesoome!!! I have never visited southern California (SoCal for the cool kids) before and was completely blown away. What an insanely gorgeous place! So many amazing beaches, rolling hills, hip cities, delicious food annnd precious friends!
Tuesday, bright and early, Bethany, some fun friends and I flew out to SoCal. We met up with our family friends in LA and headed to Laguna Hills where we would be staying. Oh my. All the scenery is sooo stunning!!!
Wednesday, we took a little roadtrip to San Diego (amazing city) and enjoyed a Cubs baseball game (we have some huuuuge Cubs fans in our group). Wow! The stadium was gorgeous, the game was exciting and the ballpark food was pretty amazing.
After the game, we drove across a beautiful bridge to Coronado Island. We had dinner at this delicious little burger lounge and the food was soooo good. The lavender mint lemonade made my day oh so happy!! Y’all… the beach was stunning and the sand had literal gold flakes in it!!!! Whaaaat. How amazing is that?!?
Thursday, we spent most of the day at another awesome beach. I attempted body surfing for the first time… Let’s just say I swallowed a whole lot of salt water. Hahaha! We ended the day at Balboa Island watching a sailboat race and drinking delicious coffee!
Friday, the friends we were staying with, hosted a super fun young adults game-night and dance. We loved meeting so many new Californian friends!
Saturday, we took it easy. Walked around an outdoor mall, rode a ferris wheel and enjoyed some amazing iced coffee!
Sunday, we enjoyed a worshipful church service and luncheon afterwards. What a blessing to meet and fellowship with other sweet believers! That night, we were sooooo blessed to be able to enjoy a private beach, warm fire, yummy s’mores and a night sky full of twinkling stars! The conversations were deep, Christ focused and encouraging! I can’t even describe how grateful I am for friends that challenge me in my walk with Christ.
Monday, DISNEYLAND!!! Oh. My. Stars! Y’all, this was my very first time visiting this magical place. It did not disappoint! Honestly, it’s like stepping into another world. Everything is so bright, happy and magical! My all time favorite part of the whole day was the incredible firework show at the end. I have never seen anything like that in my whole life!!
Tuesday, we said goodbye to our amazing friends who generously hosted us, and flew back home to Texas! What a trip. What a blessing to have made so many special memories with amazing people. My heart is so full!
